Bernard's Story

When Bernard found himself in a dire situation, he took a chance on himself and walked into the doors of Inasmuch hoping for a second chance. He found rest at The Lodge and began moving through the phases of the Living Hope Program - Choosing Change, Igniting Hope, and Growing Resilience. It was within this structured program that he began to thrive.

The Living Hope transformation model begins with meeting basic needs like housing and case management, but Bernard took full advantage of life skills classes, work call, trauma recovery, financial goal setting, and is on his way to self-sustainability.



In fact, today Bernard can call himself an entrepreneur and small business owner. His clothing line, called Blessing Apparel, has a website and he’s working with FTCC to continue building a strong foundation for the business. (The shirt and hat he’s wearing in the photo above is from his line!)

Proverbs 10:6 guides Bernard - blessings are upon the head of the righteous. Once struggling and lost, Bernard walks in righteousness with the knowledge that God makes all things new and His blessings are never ceasing.
